GETTING TO THE GROWN-UP PAGE

Your child's progress report, the subscription, and Restore purchase all live behind a gate that is deliberately hard for a young child to reach.

1. Open Nubi and stay on the first screen, the one with Nubi and the big Play button.

2. Press and hold the top-right corner of the screen for about a second and a half. Nothing is drawn there. Hold anyway.

3. A gate appears. Hold down both leaves at the same time, one finger on each, until the flower opens.

Two fingers at once is the whole trick: it is not a gesture a four-year-old finds by accident. For your first few sessions there is also a small "A note for grown-ups" link near the bottom of that screen, which goes to the same place.

HOW MUCH OF NUBI IS FREE?

The first six lessons are free permanently. They are not a countdown and they do not expire. The rest of the forty-lesson path is opened by a subscription or a one-time purchase.

HOW DO I RESTORE A PURCHASE ON A NEW DEVICE?

Go to the grown-up page using the steps above and tap Restore purchase. Use the same Apple Account that made the original purchase.

HOW DO I CANCEL THE SUBSCRIPTION OR THE FREE TRIAL?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple rather than by us. Open Settings, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, then Nubi, then Cancel. Cancelling during the free trial means you are not charged, and your child keeps the first six lessons either way.

WHY IS NUBI SILENT?

Nubi speaks every question out loud, because the children she is for cannot read yet. She is designed to keep talking even when the ring/silent switch is set to silent, because a silent maths app for a pre-reader is not usable. So if she is quiet, check the volume buttons rather than the silent switch, and make sure headphones or a speaker are not still connected.

MY CHILD GETS FLUSTERED BY THE MOVEMENT

Turn on Reduce Motion in Settings, then Accessibility, then Motion. Nubi honours it everywhere: the ambient movement stops, and nothing is ever signalled by motion alone.

CAN TWO CHILDREN SHARE ONE DEVICE?

Yes, though Nubi keeps one shared record rather than separate profiles. Asking a pre-reader to pick their own profile does not work, and a name and age is exactly the personal information we have chosen not to collect. Nubi adapts the difficulty within a few questions instead, so a shared device settles down quickly.

WHAT AGE IS NUBI FOR?

Maths for roughly ages four to seven: counting, adding, taking away, comparing, shapes, patterns, sorting, measuring, place value, fractions, equations, arrays and solids, following the Common Core progression from Kindergarten into Grade 2.

WHAT DO YOU COLLECT ABOUT MY CHILD?

Nothing. There is no account, no name, no age and no analytics, and the app has no network connection at all. The full explanation is on our Privacy page.
